Revision History - Fund on Etsy Funder Policy
Version Comments
This is the initial version that ParanoidPaul captured. It is not necessarily the first version of the document.

Fund on Etsy is a platform for people to order unique items while helping their favorite Etsy sellers grow their businesses. This Fund on Etsy Funder Policy explains how the platform works for the people who fund sellers’ campaigns.

This policy is a part of our Terms of Use. By using Fund on Etsy, you’re agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.

A FUNDER is a person who funds a seller’s campaign by ordering an item through our Fund on Etsy platform.

NOTE: Fund on Etsy is currently in a pilot program. During the pilot program, orders will only ship to the US.

By ordering an item and funding a campaign, you are entering into a direct agreement with the seller. The seller agrees to produce and deliver the item they offered in the campaign listing, and you agree to pay for the item. Etsy is not a part of the agreement between you and the seller. Funding an item does not mean that you are investing in the seller’s company or are entitled to any equity, financial returns or securities (as defined under US securities laws).

You will only be charged for an item once a campaign is funded. A campaign will be successfully funded if the seller’s funding goal is met (the minimum amount of money that a seller needs to complete the project) and the duration of the campaign has ended. If a campaign is not funded, you won’t be charged anything.

You have the right to cancel your order up to 24 hours before the end of the campaign. Cancellation requests are made between you and the Seller, and Etsy is not responsible for processing or mediating these matters. Once a Fund on Etsy campaign closes, any exchanges or refunds are at the discretion of the seller. You can learn more about requesting a cancellation in this Help article.

Etsy is not liable for any loss or damage that may occur with your use of Fund on Etsy. If a seller fails to deliver the items they agreed to produce and send you, they may be subject to legal action by you and other funders. Fund on Etsy campaigns or orders are not eligible for Etsy’s Case system. We don’t oversee sellers’ campaigns or their performance, so we don’t get involved in disputes between sellers and funders.
